I'm a 35 year old, proud Canadian. The lovely young lady pictured here with me is my daughter, Candice. Older pic, she is 11 this July.















 
First of all, this is not me. It is a cousin. My mother is of "Haida" ancestry from the Queen Charlotte Islands, B.C., or "haida gwaii" (land of the good people). You can find these islands off the coast of northern British Columbia and if it were a clear day when this pic was taken you could see Alaska in the background.

I am proud of my culture, but will always be Canadian first.
